Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 國際政治研究所 === 92 === In order to join World Trade Organization (WTO), both Taiwan and China have been making financial revolution adjustment and opening their financial market targets. Thus, this research is to analyze how to occupy a high position and enhance financial competitive ability in the liberalized and internationalized finance system under the tendency of finance globalization after China’s and Taiwan’s participation in WTO.
To Taiwanese banking, there are too many banks and the coverage of their business are seriously overlapped, which causes the profit decline and defective credit that come from the low-price competition among the banks for sales promotion. The worst part is that the decrease of yearly benefit and the increase of defective credit have put these banks into dilemma. To seize the opportunity to enter WTO, Taiwanese banking is doing the best preparation to march on Mainland market. So far eight banks have established their offices separately in major industrial cities in China, aiming Taiwanese entrepreneurs as their early stage prospective clients. This is the beneficial basis for Taiwanese banking to expand their territory there. Although facing the challenges from Chinese local banks and foreign invested banks, the competitive ability of Taiwanese banking is still superior to Mainland banking. Therefore, it is necessary for Taiwan to fasten the opening of Taiwanese invested banks to China, so Taiwanese banks will be able to bring the superiority they possess into full play before Mainland banking gets ready to hit the market.
