This shows that professional ability is insufficiently. It is needed to plan the perfect training program and develop the training program content fitting agricultural extension agents in order to promote them to the knowledge worker in the era of knowledge-driven economy. This study is to design the content of agricultural extension training program as the reference of the agricultural extension agents in the future. In order to approach the purpose, basic conception and model of curriculum development were discussed at first. According to the role and ability of domestic and international agricultural extension agents, the documents and papers were collected and concluded to be the base of agricultural extension training program. The method of focus group and the opinions from the experts of industry, government and school were used and combined to study and sort the training program of agricultural extension by degree of significance. The result showed that the agricultural extension agents should possess 11 kinds of common abilities. Concept of extension, designation of teaching, consultation and coordination, development of extension program, dealing of the crisis, interpersonal communication, use of media, analysis of policy, development and promotion of group, development and study of adult and management of volunteer were sorted by degree of significance. It is suggested that abilities mentioned above could be the consideration for employ of the agricultural extension agents or delivering training programs. In addition, the significance of different content of courses showed that it is generally between importance and very importance. The skill of interpersonal communication, the adult participating in the motive type of study and influence factor, assessment of the achievement of the plan, interpersonal relationships of business (including the interaction with superior, colleague, subordinate and people out of field) are important contents of courses in this study. Hence, it is proposed that the result of this research could be considered as the cultivation of the extension worker. Moreover, the courses could be designed and cooperated with administrative unit of government according to the content of courses or the personal demand and ability of agricultural extension agents to carry on after the training program developing continuously and appraise its effect. 黃晶瑩 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 101 zh-TW
