The monopoly and control of intellectual property relate to R&D process and market profit in high-tech industry. If you want to heave the corporate competitiveness, the “patents” will play an important role. We can collect, integrate, extract and transfer the numerous and jumbled patent data though the patent information and patent deployment analysis. In the micro view, they can offer the information of the technology development and business competition to the firms. In the macro view, they’re given the high level mission. They offer the consultation and index that can support the decision making of the country development.
This study takes the linear guide product market as an example. We choose the main competitive firms in this industry, which are IKO, NSK, THK, STAR and Hiwin. This study aims at the patents applied in USPTO by the main competitive firms and analyzes the patent deployment of them. We try to explore the general situation of the industrial competition by analyzing the patent deployment.
Through the patent management map, that can realize the level and general situation of technology activity, the manpower of R&D, the relationship with the patent technology and the fundamental quality of the patent technology in every competitive firm.
Through the patent technology map, that can realize the important domain of R&D and core technology in every competitive firm. Even it can observe the features of R&D in every competitive firm.
Through the further patent deployment analysis, that can realize the progress of the technology development in this industry, the relationship of the technology between the firms, the variety of the market demand and the general situation of the technology development in every competitive firm. Furthermore, it can realize the important technology of the firms by observing the method of patent application and find out what patents are applied to what kinds of the products in every competitive firm by patent information.
According to the patent deployment analysis of the main competitive firms in the linear guide product market, this study tries to develop a method that can explore the industrial competition from patent deployment.
