Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 土木工程學系 === 92 === This research investigates the technique of manufacturing the hollow lightweight concrete block by low-pressure grouting method. The lightweight aggregates with a low unit weight less than 1000 kg/m3 were used. The water/binder ratio and the replacement ratio of pozzolans of the paste are the main variables in producing hollow concrete block. This method is entirely dissimilar to the traditional production processes of concrete block. The absolutely-dry lightweight aggregates were first filled into an airtight mold. Then, the paste was squeezed into the mold by low-pressure grouting to fill up the void space. Keeping from the floating up lightweight aggregates, a glossy concrete block surface can be approached. Test results shows that using this new manufacturing method the unit weight of hollow lightweight concrete block can be lower than 800 kg/m3, almost the 1/3 of normal concrete blocks, and the compressive strength is about 7 MPa to 11 MPa, which is in accordence with the required strength of non-structural concrete block.
