| Summary: | 碩士 === 立德管理學院 === 地區發展管理研究所 === 92 === Recently the research on city competitiveness has become more important, but connotation of the city competitiveness was a complex dynamic system. Researchers used to emphasize on the aspects of society and economy to discuss the building of competitive superiority, while focusing on economic development and living standard in terms of evaluation index. However, under the tendeney of globalization, the spatial criterion of city (or region) competition has been pushed forward to the whole world and then the phenomenon of international competition emerged. The global city system will not only focus on the strength in city interior special shape but transfer to emphasize on the connection of its network. In other words, the position of the city in global system and the conncetion with other cities had become the key point of observation. Therefore, the information technology is the important link to facilitate the global city formation and has constituted the foundation for social and economical globalization as well as the network. It has not only influence the personal life but also brings structural reorganitation for the sole city production method, management efficiency and city growth. It could be referred as the necessary fundamental condition for global competition if future.
Therefore, coordinating information technology to create an environment for urban development which provides competitive advantage has become the commonly pursued goal in the global city development of the 21st century. Because of the strength which is innovated by the applied information technology has the influence on urban competitiveness and nation-wide economy, the major research institutions have made announces the related index for information competitiveness to measuer the level of information capability in various countries. Nevertheless, the research on information power is not common yet. Thus, the information power index usually has been contained within the evaluation system of urban competitiveness. Therefore, this study attempts to play the role of exploration research on looking back the relerant weighted index of information power in order to coordinate a complete evaluation system for city information power. Further more, we can conduct a survey through the systematic questionnaires to estimate if the index of city information power is suitable or not.
