The tools used to process empirical analysis were factor analysis, two-stage cluster analysis, discriminant analysis, one-way ANOVA/MANOVE, Scheffe multiple comparison, and multiple regression analysis Applying the result of the statistics analysis to Optical Fiber Communication Industry in Taiwan, this paper concluded that: (1) Taiwan’s optical fiber communication industry can be divided into four strategic groups by classifying them according to degree of similarity in resource-owned and characteristics of the strategy-used; the four strategic groups are groups that are (a) able to rapid respond to market and to customers, (b) using product differentiation strategy, (c) utilizing its strong marketing ability, and (d) using cost as defense as a strategy; (2) there are significant differences among strategic groups in their sources of and level of mobility barriers; (3) four strategic groups are significantly different especially in their operation performance. Finally, strategies of cost control and rapid response to customer orders are two most critical factors affecting performance of a company in Optical Fiber Communication Industry in Taiwan. none 康勝夫 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 93 zh-TW
