Sounds radiated by surface ships reveal their presence to enemy submarines. In other cases, sounds regenerated by one surface ship may even interfere with sonar on passive acoustic homing torpedoes. This paper presents the overall process of analysis and regeneration about ship noise. First, we start from system analysis to understand the principal sources and the major power contributors of ship noise. Second, we use simulating signal and actual ship noise to identify system which adaptive signal processing model and algorithms we had chosen. And then, we regenerate ship noise by the result from system identification. Third, we obtain the best system performance from adjusting system parameters. This adjustment is based on the difference between the actual signal power density and the regenerated signal power density. Fourth, Using the same method to identify system and adjust system parameters which subspace signal processing model and algorithms we had chosen. Finally, We understand the key points of two signal processing models and indicate which model better on comparison of system performance and acoustic signature analysis. We recognize ship noise much more by the process of analysis and regeneration. Chao-Hung Chen 陳昭宏 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 44 zh-TW
