Traditional network with text and image cannot meet the need of users. Now the network with text, images, sound, animation and film, is called the multimedia sound and image network, which has made information transmission no longer limited by time, space or location. Everyday, people all over the world are getting on www for communication, file transfer, and remote client login. Multimedia video and audio streaming technology is becoming even more important with the widespread use of Internet. Furthermore, the broadband network, the ADSL, and the wireless technology are also advancing and prevailing at a rapid rate. In the consequences, e-learning has become a trend and many platforms are built for the massive requests. However, most base-on-web teaching systems are facing a severe hindrance:the bandwidth and the limited loading capability of servers. They would be the bottleneck when the amount of users increases greatly. In order to break the boundary, the policy usually refrains users from downloading data directly from servers. Multicast is one of the common techniques of all the strategies. Traditional multicasts, nevertheless, is not able supply the most satisfactory teaching quality under present bandwidth restrictions. This thesis proposes a system using Sure Stream to ensure incessant and stable video and audio transportation. What is more, it integrates real-time characteristics of wireless transportation techniques to construct a user-friendly multimedia real-time on-line learning system and to extend the range of the Internet linkages.
