The knowledge of the Co-C bond dissociation energy and of the factors that affect such bond dissociation energy of these complexes has been developed extensively. In this thesis, the reduction reactions of various organocobalt macrocyclic complexes with different ions, Cr2+ and V2+, were studied kinetically. The influence of steric effect that consists of the size of the alkyl group on the cobalt, the variety and the configuration of the ligand on this reaction was investigated.
