In phase one, related literature was studied to gain a comprehensive understanding of the history, current status, overall structure, and networking of the cultural/creative industry. In phase two, the method of multiple-case study was adopted through the documentation of in-depth interviews on key persons selected by field professionals. In the third phase, information from interview documents were analyzed, compared, and generalized. Finally, a validation of the purpose of this study was conducted, while main findings and conclusions of this study were presented. Existing literature on cultural/creative industry from academic studies in Taiwan is limited. Most scholars limited the agenda of their researches on case studies. To date, studies on cultural/creative industries have not adopted a comprehensive approach. This paper, then, attempted to explore the possibility of qualifying the study on issues including the role and networking of a government on cultural/creative industries, disputed issues of cultural/creative industries, the nature of industry development, and developmental strategies of corporations. The purpose was to grasp the overall development of handicraft business in Taiwan’s cultural/creative industries. In order to meet the objective of analyzing the said business in a comprehensive approach, this paper contains interviews on related organizations and groups, which belong to four differently-natured categories of government agencies, foreign embassies, academic organizations, private institutions, and corporations. A total of 13 samples were interviewed. The selection of a sample depends on its direct or indirect relations to the said business and its level of representation. The collection of data is based on in-depth interview. The recordings and notes of the interviews were documented into a text of over 90,000 words, which served as the main database for this paper. Based on in-depth analysis on the database, concrete findings and values were derived, into which the author hopes the government, corporations, and academia could continue to pursue further studies and explorations. 高義芳 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 216 zh-TW |
