Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 管理學研究所 === 95 === In the past decade, global environmental protection consciousness has obtained worldwide attention. They has become a main focus recently with green initiatives becoming another trade barrier for developed countries, especially for products which can be recycled after consumption & Hazardous Substances issues. In recent years, the electronic industry has experienced a strong impact known as the environmental protection requirements. When we mention the “environment”, which now ranked as the top goal, therefore, many manufacturers are continuously trying to fulfill the regulation of environment protection. The European Union has officially launched the WEEE(Waste Electronics and Electrical Equipment) and RoHS(Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment )directions in 2003 in order to validate electronics product to comply with its standards. RoHS restricts new electrical & electric equipment that is placed on the EU market from containing lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-brominated biphenyls (PBB), or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) starting July 1, 2006. The purpose of WEEE is to reduce electrical & electric equipment waste disposal through the reuse, recycling, and other forms of.Since the market of the European Union is huge, therefore, Taiwan focuses and relies heavily on the power supply industry. As long as product that shipped to Europe has to comply with RoHS and WEEE directions, it must cause great impacts to Taiwan’s relative industries. Therefore, the industry competition is getting serious, how to maintain the original advantage to avoid to be replaced in the competitive industry to be company major issue. This initial research takes RoHS and WEEE direction as an outset and try to understand its definition and standard. Then, we intend to find out the present status of Taiwan’s SPS industry through analysis of subordination data. This research uses describing case study, proceed the study through depth interview. The Framework of the research comes from Porter’s diamond theory in Competitive Strategy and SWOT analyzing model. Through the systematic research to the strategic theory, we get the case company suitable with workable strategy. In the end of the study, some managerial implications are provided for the case company in its decision-making, which may contribute to the feasibility of the strategy.
