First, the researcher interviewed six mothers of dual-earner families regarding child-rearing involvement and co-rearing with their family day care providers. The data of the interview was the foundation for the measures of the questionnaire in the following quantitative research. The measures used including " Child-rearing Involvement for Mother and Family Day Care Provider "," Co-rearing Relationship for Mother and Family Day Care Provider ", and "Child- rearing Qualities". The quantitative research targeted at the mothers of dual-earner families with 1-4years old young children taken care by family day care providers in Taipei county city. A total of 292 mothers were investigated, and 202 questionnaires of mothers were valid. Data was analyzed by using frequency statistics, Pearson correlation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, linear regression and structural equation modeling. Results of the study were as followed. 1.The mother perceived that themselves and their family day care providers usually involved in four aspects of child-rearing including " learning stimulation", "behavior discipline"," warm encouragement", and "care taking".The t-tests indicated that mothers involved more often than family day care providers in" learning stimulation" and "warm encouragement". However, the family day care providers involved more often than mothers in "care taking" and "behavior discipline". 2. The mothers agreed that themselves and their family day care providers tended to have more supportive co-rearing relationship, and appear less unsupportive co-rearing relationship. In addition, the mothers also perceived that the quality of child-rearing provided to their children was sufficient. 3.Regarding the differences among child-rearing involvement based upon fees and numbers of child care, the significant differences were found. Similarly, the differences among co-rearing relationship based upon mothers’ educational background and providers’ license, the significant differences were found. 4. The correlations showed that child-rearing involvement among mothers and their family day care providers positively related to supportive co-rearing relationship and child-rearing qualities. The unsupportive co-rearing relationship was negatively related to child-rearing involvement and child-rearing qualities. 5. The regression analyses indicated that four aspects of child-rearing involvement and supportive co-rearing relationship did show significantly positive associations with child-rearing qualities. However, the unsupportive co-rearing relationship negatively predicted child-rearing qualities. 6.Finally, the results of structure equation modeling (SEM) suggested that the effects of child-rearing involvement on child-rearing qualities were significantly mediated by co-rearing relationship. Based on the findings above, suggestions were made for mothers in dual-earner families, family day care providers, government, enterprise and related workers. Issues for further study were also discussed. chen jo-lin 陳若琳 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 155 zh-TW |
