Ever since a person is born, he or she is stepping into death gradually. Therefore, it is important to cherish and respect life. Although human’s life span is lengthened by the development of science and medicine, we are still mortal. The physical material is bound to decay and constrained by the time and space, but the message of life is perpetual. In regard of multi-structure of life, death is the transformation of it, that is, from the physical substance to the message status which has no material basis. Moreover, life is actually a learning process. As the saying goes “live and learn”, it also reveals the meaning of life transmigration. This research paper is divided into five parts. Chapter one is the introduction, which contains the motivation, objective, document analysis, structure, methods and limitation of the research. Chapter two probes the traditional funeral customs, and the ideology and rituals of funeral. It also examines the funeral customs from the bereaved family’s point of view and analyze the mourning dress sociologically. Chapter three is the study of the variation of funeral customs, the change of environment and the localizational concept of people in Yiland area. Chapter four is about the reconstruction of the funeral culture and takes two cemeteries, Fu-yuan and Ing-hua-ling-yuan, as examples. Chapter five is the conclusion and the vision to rebuild the function of funeral rituals to the tides of time. By the analysis of the traditional funeral rituals, this research is aiming to promote the importance of respect for ancestors and to clarify the misunderstanding of the funeral rites. So that the real meaning of funeral rituals can be passed down to next generations, and people can have right recognition of it. 宋光宇 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 186 zh-TW |
