Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 經營管理碩士在職專班 === 92 === The domestic textile industry is the government’s key element in the foundation building blocks of Taiwan’s industrial growth. This industry also attracts vast amounts of foreign exchange income to the industrial sector. Indeed it is a great contribution to the country’s economic and welfare growth. Of all Taiwan’s industries, the textile industry was a leader in international growth and distribution into the mainland. This has steadily become a complete supply chain within the mainland market. When we investigate the reasons we can see that the future domestic investment environment will continue to change, but mainland China’s market will contain a huge market scale, will also have lower factor cost and an abundant supply of inexpensive labor. Therefore in the pushing force and pulling force correlation of factors outside the industry that mainland China at present is Taiwan’s most popular foreign investment location. Numerous studies had been conducted on Taiwan’s foreign direct investment in textile to China; however, this paper is the first one to conduct based on Taggart and Kojima’s theories. This dissertation integrates domestic market imperfection, firm’s specific advantages, location specific advantages and environment factors to examine the determinants affecting Taiwanese textile industries’ decision of FDI . Survey by questionnaire had been conducted in this paper for quantitative study purpose: the populations of the research, which are 1559 objects spontaneously, are selected from the company catalogue of Department of The Statistics, MOEA, eventually, 146 effective cases and 140 ineffective cases had been collected. The effective ratio is 10 %. The analytical technique used in this research is descriptive statistic. Selected interview had also been conducted in order to compare with the result of quantitative study. The results of this research are If we are to list the importance regarding the domestic market imperfection we list the importance ranking following the categories “the unique technical skill”, “the marketing factor” and “the factors of production”; Firm’s specific advantages is “modern technology”, “innovation” and “management”; Location specific advantages is “the market scale”, “the production cost” and the “investment preference”; Regarding the above findings the statistical analysis is consistent with the findings of the document interview regarding the content. Moreover the importance regarding the environmental factor importance ranking as listed “the environmental protection cost”. “The working condition”, “the political environment” and “the exchange rate change”. This analysis and the document interview results shows the difference is “the environmental protection cost”, the participant comparatively did not think this factor, this research suggestion is that more research should be conducted with this regard. As the World Trade Organization further phased and tears apart trade barriers, the Textile Agreement promises us free competition from the 1st of January 2005 in textile market. At present within the domestic textile industry none of the occupants have a production or marketing competitive ability to occupy the first place. Textile industry in Taiwan is absolutely not a “sunset industry” and a lot of related topics are waiting to be explored in this field.
