Visitors’ perceptions of environmental impacts in a recreation setting are via their mental activities to form their viewpoints about the negative impacts which are derived from recreation uses. Consequently, it would feedback to their perceptions of recreation setting attributes and site choices as well. In addition, visitors’ feelings about the contents of a recreation setting are becoming firmer. Recreation uses at wetland should be based on the principle of emphasizing on natural resource preservation. Since wetland ecosystem is belonging to the areas of ecological sensitivity, it is extremely important conduct environmental monitoring and management on site. This study took Koamei and Fubao wetlands as the study areas to investigate visitors’ perceptions of recreation impacts and their behaviors by analyzing visitors’, managers and planners’ perceptions of ecotourism and ecological values of wetland. Limits of acceptable change approach and visitor impact management model were applied in this study to provide some management suggestions for the planning of wetland protection and uses. According to the study results of the questionnaire survey at both wetlands, respondents have shown certain degree of perceptions to ecotourism activities and environmental value. Based on the analyses of the environmental impacts, impact management measurements and limit of acceptable change, there was an agreement among visitors, managers and concern groups on the issues of this concern. By conducting an integrated evaluation analysis, this study would suggest the administrative agency should first confirm the use orientation for both wetlands, and then establish the mechanism for wetland management and uses. In addition, ecological themes should be added into the planning of general education at schools and reinforce the ecological concepts in the youth. Ming-Yun Wu 吳明雲 學位論文 ; thesis 119 zh-TW
