Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 土木及水利工程所 === 92 === The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate the effect of wave breaking type on the overtopping of the rubble mound seadike with and without front submerged dikes on the sloping bed. It reveals that the submerged dike can decrease the overtopping significantly. And an empirical formula regarding overtopping and crest freeboard, submerged depth, distance and bottom slope etc. is regressed. Equation for estimating the breaker height index , submitted by Hattori et al. (1994), is revised in this paper. And then it can be applied to general bottom slope.
As for submerged dike installed on the sloping bed, a parameter is proposed to distinguish between spilling breaker and plunging breaker as its value is 1.25. And for sloping bed without submerged dike installed Battjes (1974) proposed that the breaker type was depend on the value of surf similarity parameter. However, we conclude from this experimental study and the predecessor research that the distinguish value is depend on bed slope (S) , the relation formula is .
The empirical formula for the overtopping of spilling breaker and plunging breaker is gained, respectively, to compute the overtopping on the rubble mound breakwater.
