碩士 === 大葉大學 === 國際企業管理學系碩士班 === 92 === 　　Internationalization and diversification have become Taiwan manufacturers’ important strategies. Past researches were focus on the influence of internationalization and diversification on business performance, and most of those researches adopted financial indicator that represented profitability as performance’s proxy variable, yet there were discrepancy among research results; therefore, this research plans to use failure ratio as performance’s proxy variable to discuss the influence of internationalization and diversification on organization failure. 　　The research objects are companies listed in TSEC (Exclude financial and insurance companies), and the research period is from 1981 to 2002. 　　Research results show that the hypothesis of internationalization degree has negative correlation with organization failure ratio is partially supported; the hypothesis of relevant diversification has negative correlation with organization failure ratio is not supported, and the hypothesis of irrelevant diversification degree has positive correlation with organization failure ratio is supported.
