Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 國際企業管理學系碩士班 === 92 === The main theme of this research paper is to discuss how expatriates lose their ability to judge properly when facing uncertain situation in a newly entered environment. Therefore, today corporations have focused heavily on the adaptability of expatriates. In this research paper, its thesis structure is based on the information of personal background and organization commitment related to adaptability from Taiwan business expatriates. During the research, 310 surveys had been sent out with effective return rate of 50.9%, the research has discovered:
1. From the information of personal background, the research has concluded that middle age and working experience shown great effects on the adaptability; however, expatriating experience only affects the adaptability job wised.
2. Each of the expatriates’ organizational commitment, willingness to work, and intention to stay would affect the adaptability differently.
3. Expatriates’ organizational commitment, willingness to work, and intention to stay would have a common effect the adaptability.
Based on the information above, suggestions for the industry and expatriates-to-be are as follow:
1. When selecting expatriates, corporations shall focus on three main factors: organization commitment, willingness to work, intention to stay.
2. In the future when selecting expatriates to Mainland China, requirements for the expatriating experience can be minimized depending on different situations.
3. With change of era, foreign adaptation has become even more complicated, those who wish to be expatriated should possess not only the suggested abilities in this research paper, also enhance foreign language background and risk managing related information and function.
