Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 92 === In order to obtain the key technology of filament texturing, the ability of designing high-efficiency air interlacing apparatus becomes very important. Because the air jet interlacing apparatus is actuated through high-pressure air flowing through yarn passages, the flow characteristics inside the passages dominate the behaviors of the interlacing process. This thesis is to study the flow field inside the passages numerically and to correlate the flow characteristics with the interlacing characteristics of interlacing apparatus. The first step is to create the numerical grids describing the exact geometry of the passages. Second, the computational fluid dynamics <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=tools&v=56">tools</a> are used to investigate the flow field inside the apparatus. Third, the important flow characteristic, e.g. vortices, is quantitatively studied. A model correlating the flow vorticity strength and the knot number is proposed. The proposed relation is proven to be capable of predicting the knots per unit interlacing length with accepted accuracy.
