Static Transfer Switches (STS) are considered one of the efficient remedy approaches for the voltage sags. Therefore, determination of the installation locations for STS must consider the minimal voltage sags and total number of switching operations, and maximal sensitive load voltages. In this thesis, three methods of fuzzy multi-objective, goal programming and combine fuzzy set with goal programming based on the Genetic algorithms and decision making for multi-objective programming problems to study the are proposed to feeder reconfiguration in distribution systems for minimal voltage sags and total number of switching operations, and maximal sensitive load voltages. The Prufer number is used for encoding the chromosomes (strings) in the Genetic algorithms. The Prufer number ensures that the system structure is radial for the distribution system.
