Monodisperse polyimide particles prepared by using precipitation polycondensation were have been used as seeds. Diluents (good solvent, poor solvent) added to swell seeds. Subsequently, monodisperse porous polyimide particles formed from chemical imidization with adding acetic anhydride as dehydration agent. The main objectives of this study are (1) to investigate the effect of the kind and amount of diluents on the formation of the porous particles, specific surface area, pore volume, and pore sizes, and expect to understand the mechanism of porosity formation of particles. (2) to investigate the effects of the chemical imidization on morphology formation of the polymer particles. From the experimental results, the best polymerization conditions and stable polymerization system to prepare monodisperse micron-sized porous polyimide particles. Using NMP as diluent can not swell polyimide particles well its porosity seems to be very small. When diluent is toluene, the amount of Toluene unable control to swell polyimide particles, and the porosity is small and irregular variation. When n-Octanol is used as the diluent, it really can swell polyamic acid particles well and polyimide particles with porosity 32.8﹪ are obtained. The thermal property of polyimide particles formed by chemical imidization using acetice anhydride, is poor than that of thermal imidization, but it promote to solubility relatively. Because the inherent viscosity of polyimide particles not to be high by chemical imidization. Keh-Ying Hsu 許克瀛 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 88 zh-TW
