This experiment is to study the thermal effect on glass-fiber reinforced concrete. Because high temperature will result concrete chap and reinforced bar decreased in strength, so we take advantage of quality of glass-fiber to decrease cracks to occur. This not only can increase the compressive strength and bending strength of concrete but also increase the coefficient of thermal-conductivity. So, this can avoid the decrease in strength of concrete after fire damaged.
This study includes the development of compressive strength of glass-fiber reinforced concrete (7days, 14 days, 21 days, 28 days, 49 days, 56 days), the bending strength, the compressive strength of glass-fiber reinforced concrete after fire damaged and the coefficient of thermal-conductivity of glass-fiber reinforced concrete. The parameters considered in this study are the glass-fiber content(0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%)and the glass-fiber length(0.6mm, 2.54cm)and the temperature of fire damaged(440℃, 500℃, 580℃, 800℃, 1000℃).
The study results show that, with suitable content of glass-fiber, the glass-fiber reinforced concrete will increase effectively in compressive strength, bending strength, the compressive strength after fire damaged and decrease in the coefficient of thermo-conductivity. But when too much glass-fiber is put into concrete, the compressive strength will decrease.
