| Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 營建管理研究所 === 92 === This paper aims at developing a quantitative model for the design management of public building projects. At first, literature about the design management of public building projects in recently years are reviewed. A benchmarking method is adopted as the research methodology for developing such model. And then, a building project by the Taipei Mass Rapid Transportation Agent (TMRT) is selected as benchmark, since TMRT has been widely conceived as outstanding in design process management. Secondly, the quantitative model of TMRT is analyzed and modified to develop a general model for management of design processes of other building projects. Finally, a public building project, which is similar in volume as the benchmark project, is selected from public section to demonstrate the application of the proposed model. Both spreadsheets and control charts are employed in the demonstration example to illustrate the usage of the proposed model. Practical issues regarding the application of the proposed model are discussed. It’s shown from the demonstration that the proposed model provides an effective tool for the design process management of building projects.
