Education evaluation is just a good method to show the levels and the situations of resources utilized of all departments of universities. Accordingly, how to utilize limited resources to create the better output is the objective of every school. Base on the motivation, the purpose in this thesis is to study the methods of education evaluation in the general universities, and then compare these methods. In order to complete the purpose, we survey the methods of education evaluation in the general universities, and then we compare these methods, including ‘Delphi Method’, ’Balanced Scorecard’, ‘Analytic Hierarchy Process’, ‘Data Envelopment Analysis’. After studying these four methods in the education evaluation, we have the following conclusions. 1.Delphi Method: to use expert opinions to get the common consensus, and then set up the items and weightings of the education evaluation. This method may be influenced by the subjective intuitions of the experts. 2.Balanced Scorecard: to use financial performance, customer, inside process, studying and growing up, etc. to construct the items of the education evaluation. In this method, it is difficult to set up the items and identify the standard of grading. 3.Analytic Hierarchy Process: to compare each pair of items in the same stratum to find the relative weighting of each item. In this method, there should not be too many items in the same stratum. 4.Data Envelopment Analysis: to use the concept of input and output to the education evaluation, the weightings do not be influenced by the subjective opinions. In this method, it is difficult to decide the input and output items. By the conclusions, if it is to consider the expert opinions in the education evaluation, we suggest that Delphi Method, Analytic Hierarchy Process, or combining Delphi Method or Analytic Hierarchy Process are suitable to apply. If it is balanced to consider the items of education evaluation, we suggest that the Balanced Scorecard is suitable to apply. Finally, if it is to consider the situation of resources utilized in the education evaluation, we suggest that Data Envelopment Analysis is suitable to apply.
