Base on theory of turbulent flow and the characteristics of stagnation point and separation point as well as the geometrical shape of piers, this paper proposes a analytic model for calculating the limit depth of pier scour. Energy method is employed to establish a model for evaluation the constriction of flood by bridge. After comparison, appropriate models are established in this study.
