Summary: | 碩士 === 長庚大學 === 化工與材料工程研究所 === 92 === In this research, the properties of PA 6 were modified through mixing with an organoclay 30B and an impact modifier POEMA. The PA 6/30B/POEMA composites with different compositions were prepared using a twin screw extruder with different components loading sequence. Wide-angle X-ray diffractometer (WAXD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) were used to characterize the structure of PA 6 composites. The mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were evaluated by thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA), impact strength tester and tensile properties tester.
The XRD, EDS and TEM results showed that 30B was well dispersed in the PA 6 matrix, and the morphology depended on components loading sequence. The TGA results showed that thermal stability of PA 6 was improved after adding 30B. The WAXD and DSC results showed that the crystallization behavior and the crystal structure of PA 6 were affected with the additions of 30B and POEMA. The SEM results revealed that the PA 6/30B/POEMA composites were homogeneous systems. The DMA results showed that the storage modulus of PA 6 increased as 30B was included, and the Tg of PA 6 changed little. The izod impact strength of PA 6 increased with the addition of POEMA. Tensile modulus and yield strength of PA 6 were found to increase with the addition of 30B.
