Nowadays the growing of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) has been faster and Internet telephone becomes a future trend for telecommunications. Several VoIP call signaling protocols have hence been developed. These popular protocols, for instance, are IETF’s Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and ITU-T’s H.323 protocol. One of the main drivers for this trend was the decision of Third Generation Partnership Program (3GPP), which in the year 2000 has selected SIP as call control protocol for 3G IP-based mobile networks. While researching and developing various kinds of communication protocols, researchers could utilize network protocol analyzers to debug and monitor operations of these protocols. There are currently a lot of analyzers on the market (e.g., NetXray, Ethereal and so forth) but there is no open-sourced analyzer dedicated to SIP protocol, which is extensible and scalable. Besides, in the Internet or 3G environments, SIP messages will be routed by SIP proxies on different LANs. Using a standalone analyzer cannot monitor the whole SIP message flow. In this thesis, we study a solution to this problem, and design a distributed framework of SIP analyzer. Finally we implement an open-sourced SIP analyzer offering essential functions such as capturing SIP packets, analyzing SIP messages and providing a web interface for clients. 潘仁義 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 69 zh-TW
