Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 機械系 === 92 === The purpose of this paper is to develop a system for computer-aided design and interference detection of bending pipes. Such system can be used to make real-time changes to pipe shapes based on interference deduction results so as to achieve interference-free pipe designs. Because the obstacle was developed as an STL (Stereo lithography) file, and contains a large number of pixels, a feasible three-step method has been proposed to accelerate the collision testing period. This process progresses from cursory interference detection, to careful interference detection, and finally to exquisite interference detection.
This study used straight and bent pipes designed through curvature radius of arc between the control points. Users can adjust the curvature radius values, inner radius, and outer radius of the pipes to allow for various pipe appearances and configurations. In addition, a three-step method of interference detection was used in this article. The purpose of first step, cursory interference detection, is to eliminate pipes and triangulation without any collision as discernable by the method of axis aligned bounding box and uniform spatial subdivision. The aim in the second step, careful interference detection, is to determine, through a bounding sphere, the triangulation surrounding the pipe where collision is possible. During the third step, exquisite interference detection, the mathematical formulas of the interference between pipes and triangles are derived. Finally, a computer program is implemented for computer-aided design and interference detection of bending pipes.
This system is formulated to assist businesses in developing non- interference pipe designs by computer to facilitate follow-up production, prevent poor pipe designs and the resultant waste of manpower and material resources, and thus enhance the producer''s overall competitiveness.
