Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 資訊傳播學系 === 91 === Digital media goes beyend borders of nations, is not restricted to time and space, inexpensive, and easy to access and transmit. Unlike traditional media, information is reconstructed, stored and searched with interaction at real-time digitally. Because of these properties, digital media has penetrated into people’s lives deeply.
However, any media has to solve the same problem. How the information is efficiently presented? How the users are guided to receive the information? How to turn the information into knowledge and wisdom, and transform them to user experiences as a result? This study integrates two primary design methods, experience design and digital media navigation design, to solve the problems mentioned above.
The main objective of experience design is the modeling and creation of “experience” to create an environment emphasizes on the user’s feelings and experience. Especially in the domain of digital media, the design has changed from system-oriented to user-oriented approach. Hence, experience design is best applied to the digital media to create a context the users can experience and recognize.
The objective of navigation design is to quickly and efficiently guide the user to obtain the information she is acquiring while minimize the feelings of lost, frustration and confusion. Hence, navigation design when applied to digital media can help users to navigate and browse, and to retrieve needed information easily.
From the points above, the integration of experience design and digital navigation design can help designers to create digital environments that invoke user experiences and guided user navigations which are essential of any great design project.
