Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 電子與資訊工程研究所碩士班 === 91 === In 21th century, many science and technology developments will make use of the nano materials for various applications. Along with the development of the nano technology, carbon nanotube has become one of the important nanomaterials due to its navel properties. This work was to use high-resolution transmission electron micorscope (HRTEM) to observe the structures of the carbon nanotubes. The growth mechanisms and the structures of the carbon nanotubes were investigated in this work. Energy Dispersive Spectroscope (EDS) was ustilized to identify the catalysts for the carbon nanotube growth and their distributions. It was found that the sizes of the catalysts used for the carbon nanotube growth vary from 1.13 nm to several hundred nm. The diameter of the grown carbon nanotubes is found to be proportional to the catalyst size. The spacing between the multi-wall carbon nanotube (MWNT) layers can be as small as 0.341 nm. The diameter of the single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNT) is in the range of 1.076 nm to 1.525 nm.
