Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 衛生資訊與決策研究所 === 91 === Barcode is a method for data entry that can simplify the process of data input, reduce the manual error, and increase the validity of data collection. According to reference, the traditional barcode is a static, one-dimensional anamnesis number, such as a commercial label. Here, we expand the dimension of barcode to two dimension by adding color schema, and include the dynamic trait into our barcode system. Clinical pathway is a therapy model designed by the healthcare provider according to the process of disease treatment or surgical operation. It can shorten the length of treatment of patient, reduce medical expenditure and improve the quality of healthcare. This study is to design a dynamic color barcode system and assesses its usage in the acute chest pain clinical pathway. First, we adopt the coding method of "39 codes" to form our barcode. The color of barcode is used here to classify the four emergency classes of patients. In an emergency room, using the barcode can provide the important information about the patient, and color schema of the barcode can ease the triage. When changes of patients situation occur, the new barcode is generated automatically by the system or manually by the E.R. staff, providing this barcode system with the characteristics of dynamic. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and complete interview with E.R. staffs show the easy use and usefulness of the dynamic color barcode system we designed. Dynamic color barcode can assist the management of clinical pathway, improve quality of healthcare, reduce the happening of manual error, and ease triage. Although the use of barcode in clinical pathway is a simply process, we must think over some factors in practice such as environment of hospital, barcode limitation, and the attitude of patient. In the future, if barcode can include extra meaningful graph, like manikin, the value of barcode will be increased.
