| Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 歐洲研究所 === 91 === Postmodern movies prevail in most of the world in multiple style, eye-catching images and hi-technological skills. But it’s not easily to describe what the characteristics of postmodern movies are, because they don’t have certain forms and patterns.
We are curious about : what are the characteristics of postmodern movies, what are the pushing strength behind postmodern movies, and on what kind of environment and consequences they can develope ?
In this dissertation, the aouthor tries to search the answer by the following research.
Chapter one first describes the development from modern to postmodern, and find out the characteristics of postmodernism, the relationship of comsumer society and modernity, and concern about the rising of consumptive culture in cities.
Chapter two, we’ll discuss the relationship of postmodern and movies, introducing the rising background of postmodern movies, the characteristics of Postmodern movies, and analyse them from the aspects of Barthes, Jameson and Baudrillard.
Chapter three trys to introduce several Postmodern movies, ‘Body Heat matrix, in the Mood for Love,and Autumn Moon’, starting from cultural point of view, the author try to analyze the postmodern movies in multiple perspective.
Finally, in the conclusion, the author summarizes all the chapters above, and expects the coming studies.
