However, due to economic and social structure reforms, which eventually led to the changes in the status of women, space designs had also moved along accordingly. It is no longer “men outside and women inside”; women had begun developments or new ways of living in the space like home, public areas, work places, etc. From Feminism and Post-Feminism, women had started to notice the differences not inequality between genders. Along with social and cultural changes, the functions of families and the roles women play such as mothers, women, girl friends, and girls had also evolved; in other words, the multi-social roles woman played in a patriarchal society had deeply influenced and shaped the space developments and designs into five dimensions- Exclusively women, Prefer women, Neutral, Prefer men, and Exclusively men. I have cited the newly developed industrial and commercial space in the east area of Taipei -MRT underground malls, as the backgrounds for the topic, to fully exam the relationships between women and space as well as the space development strategies with respect to the five dimensions mentioned above. Try to picture the colorful carnival, it is not hard to imagine the 7 vivid colors and put them into the seven spaces in the MRT underground malls. Form these unique space designs: tech chat square, family square, mind square, vogue square, cartoon square, physical square, you can actually see the new ways of space developments with respect to the various roles women are playing in the society as well as the uniqueness and differences of women. 劉綺文 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 97 zh-TW |
