Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 土木工程學系 === 91 === Mobile computing solutions cover a variety of application─occasionally connected to continuously connected, small-scale to large-scale, simple to complex, and single-application to multi-application. This is where the need for systems integration knowledge, skills, and know-how is the greatest. This is also where mobility, accessibility to the corporate information, and value of integrated mobile computing solution are high. This research built a control and management system for structural programs using wireless network. Based on the web-based control and management environment built earlier, this research transferred the client side to the PDA environment to take advantage of its characteristic of mobility. Users no longer need to be stationary while working. No matter where they are, inside or outside the office, they can finish different types of works and utilize their time well by using this system. This system is programmed in Java language. The user interface is built on PDA. Through network, Java RMI distributed objects are used to connect clients and servers. The client side is PDA, two different types of operating systems, Linux and Windows, make up the database and workstation servers. Using this interface, users can use PDAs to remotely control and manage software programs on different computers and platforms. For example, input files of structural programs can be edited on a PDA, and transmitted back to the database server. Then, the database server sends the files to a workstation server for execution. After the program is executed, the system automatically transmits output files to the database server and then relays to the PDA user interface. MySQL database in the Linux operating system was used to store and manage data related to the operation of the whole system. User can establish a new computing project by entering data from on PDAs and saving them to the MySQL database. Also, old projects can be managed through the PDA interface. These accomplish the goal of mobile structural computing and cross platform integration.
