碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 創新設計研究所 === 91 === The main focus of modern industrial design isn''t just focus on the convenience of the products; it brings further into the spiritual stage between products and their consumers.The product design utilizes the shapes of product, colors and materials to express the idea of the merchandise. A finished product is composed with various processes.Consumers see and feel the design of products in front of them. Our vision is the most direct connection between consumers and products.Combine the functionality of our eyes with our hands, we not only see the shapes of the products, but feel the power of the products as well. The vast invention of material fiber has improved our industrial production greatly, and makes uses with other materials to produce different variety of products.Our technology is moving forward in high speed, and plastic products can be seen almost everywhere. Therefore, nowadays, industrial designers have to be able to utilize the materials they use in their designs in order to take their work into another level.For example, the transparent design of iMac computer is a break through in industrial design. The main ideas of this research : 1. The feeling of plastic products to consumers. 2. The designing method that is used in iMac computer. 3. To discuss the interaction between plastic products and their consumers, and further develop the principal of their application in real life. 4. To summarize the principal of design in plastic products for later use in related product design.In the end, the research concludes by comparing iMac computer design with other plastic products and points out all similarities in design principals and ideas. The result shows that transparent material products give their users the feeling of young, creativity, modern, enthusiastic, personality, diversity,enjoyment, sanitary, gentle, scientific, cute, simplicity, specific and artistic. The interaction of transparent products and their users givesmore variety to life. Users will start thinking of different aspect of life, such as enjoying their work more.
