Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 機電整合研究所 === 91 === This thesis presents the development of miniature tunable frequency patch antenna. The rationale of tuning frequency for the patch antenna is by placing small tuning strip beside of the patch and by installing the corresponding switch to control the connective state between the tuning strip and the patch antenna. The dimensions of the patch antenna can be changed to obtain variable resonant frequency when the switch operates to connect the tuning strip and the patch antenna. First the antennas are simulated and calculated by the full-wave numerical analysis tool IE3D: one is microstrip patch antenna, another is lifted slot antenna. We also design a CPW-fed slot-loop antenna because the MEMS fabrication of microstrip patch antenna is complex. Simulation results show that to switch on or off the connective state between the tuning strip and the patch antenna can actually tune the operating frequency of the antenna. Then the three types of antennas that built on FR4 substrate are fabricated and measured by network analyzerHP8720C and compare with simulation results. Measurment results show that the size of tuning strip and contact strip influence the center frequency of antenna. The three side tuning strip have larger shift of center frequency and better impedance matching. Finally, the antennas fabricate by semiconductor techniques. It will minimize the volume of antenna.
