The design of Data DistributoR (DDR) in the BROadband Network based Utility customer Service System (BRONUSS) will be discussed. The functions of DDR in BRONUSS will be analyzed. DDR is a main route of communication of BRONUSS. DDR received commands from control center and transmitted it to Power Window (PWR-WIN) after processed. Based on the analysis, different software modules in DDR are designed by client/server architecture. It is built by multi-task. It consists of system administration and control module, kernel process module, job schedule module, communication module, remote monitoring and control module, network detection moule and their sub modules. The functions are built by modules of DDR include inner and outer communication function, two way direct load control function, power information process function, load-survey process function and outage detection function. These functions are designed to process mass amount of data received and transmitted. In addition, the capability of control and administrate Power Window based on public service broadband networks will be investigated in this thesis.
