In this report, the optimal design for die compensation is also included. In addition, MS Access and AutoCAD drawing software from AutoDesk are integrated through MS Visual Basic. Based on the PDM theory, the study develops a system which possesses functions like the design document management, component design, BOM, design change, version management and multiple parameters output, etc.. This system is called DDM (Design Date Management). During the development of this system, special attention is given to reduce the amounts of design document that are generated drawing the product design phase to increase the design speed of press brakes. This system is in single mode, windows environment. And users can easily learn user. Regarding to design change, this system utilizes VBA components of AutoCAD as the main interface for data acquisition, browsing, modifications and output, etc. In addition, all relevant design data is sorted in the database. Furthermore. XML and Word are the two output formats for design documents. A press brakes is used to verify the validation of the developed system. It shows that system has the abilities to automatically establish the compensation forces and positions and is helpful to increase the design speed and enhance the precision. Meanwhile design change, optimization, drawing output can be achieved through several simple instructions. Therefore, the system is Especially suitable for the fixed-shaped equipment like press brakes.
