So the difference between market value and book value become a vital problem. In the Era of Knowledge Economy，if business want to maintain and create competitive advantage，they must manage intellectual capital well. However, to understand what factors affect market-book value is the first step.
This study mainly discusses factors influence the differences between market value and book value. This study developed a model base on improved model of Skandia Intellectual Capital. Try to understand whether the factors of prospectus affect the intellectual Capital. The research sample in this study includes the Computer industry and Semiconductor industry 、Optoelectronic Electric Industry、Communications Industry and Precision Mechanical industry from 1999 to 2001. Totally 9 variables are selected in my empirical model. Another contribution of this study is the test of time lag promble.
The results indicate that in Computer industry primary customers-to-sales ratio、employee accumulated academic degrees、R&D ratio have significant positive relate with intellectual Capital, and average age of employee、the age of organization has significant negative relate with intellectual Capital. In Semiconductor 、Optoelectronic Electric and Communications Industry employee accumulated academic degrees、average age of employee、R&D ratio have significant positive relate with intellectual Capital. In Precision Mechanical industry equipment per capital、employee accumulated academic degrees、average age of employee、R&D ratio have significant positive relate with intellectual Capital. And in Computer industry and Semiconductor 、Optoelectronic Electric and Communications Industry intellectual capital factors can be information convey to market price in the same year. But in Precision Mechanical industry has one year time lag promble.
