Description
Summary:碩士 === 東吳大學 === 會計學系 === 91 === Abstract Aims: The management indicators in use by DoH cannot tell us the overall performance efficiency of each hospital. For solving this problem, the study is trying to develop an objective means to evaluate the managerial performance of DoH (Department of Health) hospitals from the supervisory viewpoint. Methods: The author analyses the DoH hospital statistics of 2001-2002 for general hospitals and of 2000-2002 for mental hospitals to determine the ranking of hospital managerial performance by utilizing Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and the management indicators in use by DoH. The study also try to assess the individual effect of change of each input or output variable for exploring the contributive effect of each variable to Decision Maker Unit (DMU) and relative advantages of each DMU by using Sensitivity Analysis; to investigate the resource utilization of each hospital and its direction and amplitude of improvement with the method of Slack Variables Analysis. Finally, by comparing the results of sensitivity analysis to the management indicators in use by DoH to find out the applicability of DEA in evaluating managerial performance. Conclusions: DEA combines with the management indicators in use will provide more precise information about the performance evaluation for the supervisory authority.
