In these years, most of basic researches of competency was focus on 「resource base view」、「competence base perspective」 and 「dynamic capability approach」with emphasis on a view of 「dynamic」 and 「 network」 to 「seek」、「cultivate」 and 「develop」 business competency. In this research, we devoted 「essential of competency」 because endure competency advantage will derived from it and it is more core value than tangible competency . Taiwan Notebook PCs (NB) industry has achieved an outstanding position in the world. The key factor of success also studied by many researches on a horizontal analysis. Even the results have met some strategic means but they are always not useful to executive a business strategy. In this research, the key factor of success of NB industry was studied on a vertical analysis to be integrated by methodology of 「history recalling」and 「case study」. We very interested in R&D activities of interfirm that is key issue of competence of Taiwan NB industry that was summarized by many research. We studied a structure or model of 「interactive」、「connect」and 「event」of members and deduce the evolutional process of Taiwan NB industry by 「dissipative structure theory」and 「synergetic theory」to refine the essential of competency. This process is called microscopic mechanism of social network and very different from competence view of social network.
