People can use mobile devices to get information in any time and at any place. With the success of the voice services in second-generation mobile systems, the demand of the mobile communication, especially of the data communication, grew rapidly. However, comparing with the fixed network, the bandwidth of the 2G system was lower. The bandwidth of the mobile networks will be out of use in the future multimedia networks. The third-generation mobile communication network provides the transfer bandwidth from 144kbps to 2Mbps. This environment solves the lack of the bandwidth of the mobile communication system. The multimedia contents, such as streaming video file, video conference and distance learning, consume a lot of bandwidth and are accessed by many users at the same time. At this point, the multimedia contents not only consumed bandwidth rapidly, but also increased the load of the server. To reduce this predicament, we propose a multicast mechanism, called Multicasting to Mobile Node. In this method, we use multicast table to keep track for the status of the multicast members. By this way, we can reduce the copies of duplicated data that is transferred in the mobile network and improve the utilization of the wireless bandwidth. We also corporate our mechanism with the Core-Based Tree multicasting technology to allow the mobile user to receive the multicast data which comes from/to the Internet.
