Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 高分子工程系 === 91 === This study is discussing the use of different processing conditions for procreating Phenolic-based activated carbon fiber adsorbents and their basic physical properties. The materials we used in the experiment were Phenolic-made by the Kynol Company.
The process of oxidation, carbonization and activation engineering was completed within a self-designed, continuous, semi-open high temperature machine. The production conditions had to be changed according to the production rate (15 cm/min,25 cm/min, and 35 cm/min)and the quantity amount activated (20 ml/min,40 ml/min, and 60 ml/min).By this process combined with other experiments, we were able to analyze and so know the characteristics of the processed samples.
The samples after adsorbing the isotherms of nitrogen at 77 0K realized the CAF practicability in an application of liquid and gas adsorption. The results showed the adsorption isotherms as belonging to Type Ⅰ. So the samples’ pores almost is micropores. After the VOCs adsorption test, the results showed whether the samples’ BET determination adsorption was good or not. Afterwards the SEM analysis, the results showed samples’ BET as higher than most pores distributed over the fiber surface. After the Electromagnetic Shielding Effectiveness test, results showed that sample thickness affects electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. Thickness depth makes electromagnetic shielding effectiveness better. The study analysis shows taht the production rate and quantity amount activated also affects sample properties. The best sample conditions is the production rate of 15 cm/min and the quantity amount activated 40 ml/min.
