The criterion of evaluation is to minimize the transmission losses and the negative impacts on the system performance. System performance is synthesized from short circuit capacity, line current and bus voltage, which are calculated by a Newton-Raphson based load flow program. A revised genetic algorithm is developed for determining the location of the incoming tie line. An example system with three feeders, 64 buses and a 10 MW cogeneration, is adopted. First, with respect to the transmission loss, each weighting factor of objective function is determined by the cost-worth analysis. Then, conduct the simulation under different operation condition. The results reveal that the proposed algorithm is stable in convergence. Above all, the closed-loop structure displays loss, line current, the violation of short circuit capacity and bus voltage reduction.
