| Summary: | 博士 === 國立臺灣大學法教分處 === 政治學研究所 === 91 === The purposes of this essay--A Study about the Legal Status and Supervision Mechanism of the Province in Taiwan after the Province-Downsize Period--are: 1.to make sure that the province in Taiwan is not a home rule unit or legal entity any more. 2.to recognize the new supervision mechanism of province, and the transformation of provincial government.
Comprehensive within the historical, institutional, legal interpretation and structural-functional approaches are to analyze the province of Taiwan. We can conclude that the province is not a public corporation; the provincial government and provincial council (assembly) are field agencies of Executive Yuan, but should be transformed as a reform committee of local self-governance to control and plan the affairs of tier of county and municipality government.
