Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 生物產業機電工程學研究所 === 91 === There are three purposes in this study including: 1. Investigate on three types of light applying methods, such as fixed light, movable light and rocking light and their effects on the growth of Zantedeschia plantlets in vitro. 2. Investigate on light distribution on shelves under 3 types of light applying methods above mentioned. Simulation software was developed to facilitate the design and analysis of these systems. 3. Investigate on the economical feasibilities of three types of light applying method above mentioned on a large scaled commercial operation of tissue culture plantlets. Results showed that there was no significant difference between these three types of lighting systems on the growth of Zantedeschia plantlets in vitro in terms of growth rate. In the follow-up in-vivo experiment, not only the survival rates were 100% for plantlets of three lighting systems, but also no significant differences can be found in plant height, number of leaves, chlorophyll content, fresh weight and dry weight after 30 and 60 days of growth. MATLAB was used to develop simulation programs for 3 types of lighting system focusing on the spatial distribution of light on shelves. Results showed that when more fluorescent tubes were used or bigger the tube to shelf distance was installed in the fixed light system, the uniformity of the light distribution on shelves could be improved. In the movable light and rocking light system, certain amount of halt time at both ends is needed to improve the uniformity of the light distribution on shelves. Assuming the total daily light integral are the same for 3 types of light applying methods, the electricity fees of fixed light : moving light : rocking light equals 1 : 1.08 : 0.67. The rocking light system has the highest intial cost and the lowest operating cost according to the current setup. In spite of the highest initial cost, due to the cost of the commercially available reflector used, the rocking light system is still very economically attactractive due to its lowest operating cost if the system can be operated for certain amount of period. If the cost of the reflector can be further reduced by other means, the rocking light system can be even more attractive. The number of ligh-on-shelves controlled by a motor is also critical to the cost of the moving and rocking light systems. When applied, the design of such mechanism plays an important role to the cost effectiveness of the entire system.
