Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 新聞研究所 === 91 === Media digitalization is the future trend of world because not only will it put forward the development of related industries, but it may also modify the lifestyles and behaviors of ordinary people. Furthermore, media digitalization is also regarded as a next-generation industry by the government of Taiwan. The statistics shows that here are over 80% of habitants who install Cable TV at home in Taiwan; therefore, the digitalization of Cable TV plays a crucial part in the entire itinerary of media digitalization. In this research, I discover that digitalization of Cable TV encounters many problems, such as legislation, compatibility, market competition, technology, technicians, and contents. However, if the business owners fail to offer their customers richer contents and more value-added services, it will hinder the progress and competition edge in this age of digitalization.
