The main purpose of this law is to protect rights and interests of victims of traffic accidents, so all owners of motorized vehicles must have compulsory auto liability insurance. To buy an insurance policy is just one of the ways to manage driving risks. Motorcyclists’ preference for risk management definitely has impact on their willingness to buy the compulsory auto liability insurance. This research shows only 10 percent of motorcyclists choose insurance as their way of risk management, because the concept of insurance is not popular to motorcyclists. The results also show that 49 percent of motorcyclists simply forgot to renew their compulsory auto liability insurance. The major reason for motorcyclists not having valid compulsory auto liability insurance is that they have serious doubts about the necessity of being insured. The above social phenomenon indicates that real understanding of insurance should be promoted. This research suggests penalty fines collected from those who violating Compulsory Auto Liability Insurance Law should be earmarked for victims hit by uninsured motorized vehicles. 曹壽民 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 92 zh-TW |
