The professional position of semiconductor distribution industry has taken a greater part in electronic manufacturing system for increasing complexity of components supplied for electronic manufacturing. For semiconductor distribution industry in Taiwan Rockart thinks that each company has its own key success factors that have been decided by its operating characteristics. It is needed that each company in this area must pay attention to those factors. Besides, Boseman have ever said that those factors would change with time and different industry. Factors in the past are not appropriate for these days. The motive and purpose of this research is to understand their customers’ practical and potential needs in the view of existing customer. By evaluating existing semiconductor distribution industry to find out and rank their KSF in order to strengthen competitiveness. Industry value chain and five forces model are divided to medium and downstream firms’ views to find out companies’ KSF. Relative researches before focus on whole industry and firms itself analysis instead of downstream firms’ purchasing systems. It would be an important issue how distribution firms provide financial and technical supports to their downstream firms. We use Factor Analyzing Method to analyze our investigating results and find out 13 KSFs attributed to two dimensions. The two dimensions listed below: 1. View of medium semiconductor component firms: ability of agent for new products and developing new markets., systematic integrating marketing ability, ability for controlling company size and information, ability for financial and product planning, numbers of patent right and quick reacting, the degree of information and logistics, credit managing and education training. 2. View of downstream system manufacturing firms: consolidate finance system, global management and service, to enhance value added and satisfaction, image of company and ability for grasping market information, providing with faith and competitiveness. This research is expected to provide Taiwan Semiconductor Component industry for reference, whether existing managing direction and strategy or those in the future.
