It is designed to enable voice and data communication among various electronic devices. According to the standard, when two Bluetooth devices come into each other’s communication range, one of them assumes the role of master in the communication and the other becomes the slave. This simple “one hop” network is called a piconet, the basic networking unit in Bluetooth. A scatternet is a set of connected piconets. The problem of scatternet formation has not yet been dealt with. In the literature, many topology formation algorithms have been proposed for scatternet formation. Inquiry, inquiry scan, page and page scan processes are taken to collect all Bluetooth devices. In general, there can be two types of bluetooth scatternet formation algorithms: one requires a designated device to initiate scatternet formation process and one initiates the process without any designated device. The major difference of these two types is that the former needs to have a device that has the awareness of all other devices in the network. In general, the device is needed to assign the role to other devices, either master or slave. The latter uses specific mechanisms to form a scatternet. The goals of majority Bluetooth scatternet formation algorithm are to minimize the number of piconets and packets generated. But effective routing technique is not presented. This research suggests an algorithm to develop a simple, effective and stable Bluetooth scatternet base on the concept of Routing Area. Utilization of Routing Area guarantees reliable and effective packet transmission. Juang, Tong-Ying 莊東穎 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 53 zh-TW |

碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 91 === Bluetooth is an emerging low cost and low power short-range radio technology.
